Kamalamma from village Kalmela

I use Danimma, Murkitumma, Jama, Addasaram from my medicinal plant site. I have grown them in my backyard also. When people come seeking them in the evenings and nights, I pluck from the backyard garden. During the day it is always taken from the medicinal commons. The advantage of growing them on a distant site is that there is no overexploitation of the leaves. It assures sustainability. I also use Kalyapa leaves to cure swelling on the leg or face or body.

Kanakamma from village Machnoor

Addasaram was not available (in my village). People use it extensively. Now it is available on my commons. I can give it to everyone. Omaku, Nallabatti Aaku are also used quite a lot. On my backyard garden also I grow them. But it is a very small garden. What I grow cannot suffice everyone. Therefore I raise them on a large scale on the medicinal commons. At home you cannot grow large trees like Usiri, Taani, Karaka, Medi, Allaneradi, Muriki Tumma. On the commons I raise all of them.

Narsamma from village Hulgera

Right now I use Tippateega, Danimma from my commons. Also Nallabatti. Omachattu. Right now there are no large quantities to use. In the long run there will be a wide variety available which will be used for the community.

Santoshamma from village Basantpur

Shepherdess(Gollame) Kishtamma in Basantpur was bitten by a dog. It was a deep wound. They thought it cannot be cured locally and took her to Hyderabad. They kept her there for two months. It did not get cured. Only got worse. They brought her to me. I washed the wound and applied Triphala on it every day. I also brought Konengalam from the medicinal site and boiled the pasaru. Added uppu(salt), rava (finely broken wheat), pasupu(turmeric) and sunnam(lime) and applied it as a balm over her wound. After ten days of use it got cured.

Kamalamma from village Kalmela

Kummari (Potter) Sakkamma in Kalmela had a hole in her jaw which used to constantly ooze. At the hospital they thought that it was a tumour and operated on it. She spent Rs.900 for her treatment. But it did not get cured. It repeatedly festered and a foul-smelling liquied oozed out of it. I used Teetakogila from my medicinal site, castor oil, and camphor to make an ointment. I also gave tablets of Teetakogila. About 50. It completely cured the ooze, the wound healed. Her cheek healed and became normal. The hole disappeared.

Narsamma from village Hulgera

Chotubee used to have cynus problem and her nostrils were completely blocked. She used to smell foul when came near. I gave her Nalla Sada from my medicinal site mixed with cow's ghee to be poured into the nostrils. Chotibee got cured.

Tuljamma from village Bidakanne

Chinna Chandramma was bitten by a mouse. Her skin was infected and she lost a part of her skin and looked like a leper. She was advised to go the Sanjivaraopeta which is famous for treatment for mouse bites. But the town is about 80 kms away. Chandramma had no money to go so far and get herself cured. She came to me and I asked her to come on a Sunday with one coconut and two incense sticks. She came at the dawn of a Sunday. I took the coconut, broke it in front of the Murki Tumma tree which grows on my medicinal site and brought home the bark of the tree and gave her the dicoction of the bark on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. To Chandramma, her husband and her son. After she drank this dicoction, in eight days, the deformities on her skin healed and her skin became completely normal.

Kamalamma from village Rechintal

To cure diseases like piles doctors charge Rs.5000. Male Kamalamma, a sangham member from Rechintal had a bad case of piles. She went to the hospital where the doctors demanded a fee of Rs.5000. She came back because she had not a paise to spend. She was crying. I brought her to the nearest Health Karyakarta. She gave her the Usiri pudi. After consuming five packets of the usiri pudi Male Kamalamma was completely cured. She had to spend no money.

Ismailsaab in my village who got operated for piles got a relapse. He was also cured by the usiri podi. Committee Manemma, Hyderabad Kamalamma are also the ones who got cured. Khursheedamma also.
